New Delhi: Avalon Consulting was CII’s knowledge partner for a study on promoting economic engagement between India and the Nordic region of Europe. In 2012, CII had constituted a committee for engaging with Nordic countries – Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland. It was conceived as a forum for co-coordinating various activities to promote greater economic engagement between India & Nordics. The committee Chairman is Mr. Chandrasekhar Kakal, Sr. Vice President and Executive Council Member, Infosys Ltd. Avalon Consulting was mandated to conduct a study on ‘Accelerating Economic Engagement Between India & Nordic Region’.
The objective of this exercise was to study the key trends in trade & investment between India & Nordics and to identify activities and strategies which will help to increase overall economic engagement and co-operation between the two regions The report prepared by Avalon Consulting was formally released on 21st February 2014 at a conference on Promoting Economic Engagement between India and Central / Nordic Region of Europe. The report was released by Dr. EM Sudarsana Natchiappan, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Govt of India.
Various panel discussions were organised during this event focused on opportunities for Indian industry in the Nordic and Central European region. Abhimanyu Roy, Vice President Avalon Consulting participated in a discussion on Opportunities for Indian Industry in Nordic region Eminent dignitaries who attended the conference and participated in various panel discussions included: Ambassador, Delegation of EU to India; Head of Trade and Economic Affairs, Delegation of EU to India; Ambassadors of various Nordic countries to India; Ambassadors of various Central European countries to India; leading members from Indian industry etc.
