Rules and Regulations

Team Formation

  • Participants can register in a team of three members
  • All team members must be from the same campus
  • All team members should be second year students of full time flagship program
  • A team member CANNOT be substituted at any time after the registration
  • In case any candidate wishes to withdraw, the remaining team members can choose to continue participation
  • Each participant can register in only 1 team. Multiple team registrations by the same participant would lead to disqualification of the respective teams

Registration

  • You can register for the competition on this website starting July 10th, 2024. Registrations would be open till Round 1 submission deadline.
  • There is no fee to register or participate
  • Teams registered after the deadline will not be considered for the competition
  • Registration needs to be done via the official college email ID only. Other email IDs will not be acceptable.

Solution Format

  • Submissions received via the official submission link only will be considered for evaluation
  • Please explicitly mention all the assumptions (if any) you make to solve the case. You can incorporate those as part of your submissions for each round
  • No additional slides beyond the set limit shall be accepted for evaluation
  • We encourage you to carry out your own research while working on this case. However, please ensure all your data points are obtained through authentic and reliable sources and should be mentioned in your submission
Round 1

Preliminary Round

  • The registered teams can download case study files from Sun Tzu website starting 1st Aug, 2024.
  • Each team has to choose any one of the cases and can make only 1 submission. Please keep in mind, that the teams would need to continue with the case selection for the future rounds as well. (In each round an additional line of questioning and complexity will be added; but to the same case)
  • Equal preference would be given to all cases for evaluation
  • The case submission will be open till 16th August, 2024, 11:59:59 PM.
  • Teams are required to prepare a presentation of maximum 5 slides for their Round 1 submission. Presentations can be submitted only in PDF (.pdf) format file. No supporting documents need to be uploaded. Files that exceed 25MB size will be disregarded.
  • The cover page should mention the team name, college name and the case selected. The end page should mention the name, mobile and email ID of each team member. The slide limit does not include the cover page and end slide
  • Please name your submission file as CaseNumber_CollegeName_TeamName (e.g., Case 1_XLRI_Panthers).  Files with incorrect naming conventions will not be considered for evaluation.
  • Submissions not adhering to the guidelines could be disqualified without evaluation.
  • All teams are requested to make their Round 1 submissions using the submission link given below. Please scroll down for the Round 1 submission link.
Round 2

Elimination Round

  • Submission guidelines will be communicated to the shortlisted teams
  • Each team has to continue with the case they chose in Round 1. Equal preference would be given to all cases for evaluation
  • The case launch and submission timelines would be disclosed at a later stage
  • Teams are required to prepare a PPT of minimum 10 and maximum 15 slides for their round 2 submission (excluding cover and closing slide). You may choose to include part of your round 1 slides if you feel it is necessary to carry forward the storyline. The number of slides will have no impact on the evaluation.
  • Presentations can be submitted only in PDF (.pdf) format file. No supporting documents need to be uploaded. Files that exceed 25MB size will be disregarded.
  • The cover page should mention the team name, college name and the case selected. The end page should mention the name, mobile and email ID of each team member. The slide limit excludes the cover page and end slide
  • Please name your submission file as CaseNumber_CollegeName_TeamName (e.g., Case 1_XLRI_Panthers).  Files with incorrect naming conventions will not be considered for evaluation.

  • Top 6 to 8 teams will move to the Grand Finale of the competition
  • All selected teams are requested to make their Round 2 submissions using the submission link given below. Please scroll down for the Round 2 submission link.
Round 3

Grand Finale

  • The finalist teams will present their analysis of the case study to a panel of senior industry leaders
  • All finalist teams shall be mentored by Avalon’s consulting team, who shall provide feedback and steer the teams to further develop their solutions
  • There is no slide limit. There will be a 15 minutes presentation followed by a 5 minutes Q&A by judge’s panel
  • The Grand Finale will be held on 4th October, 2024 (Tentative)
